We are now looking for a hands-on Drone Hardware engineer to join our team of passionate and motivated engineers, working out of headquarters outside Stavanger, and our mission is to build and maintain the world's infrastructure sustainably, empowering modern society with cutting-edge technology.
The right candidate for the job:
- has a passion for technology, and enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary team together with colleagues on mechanics, electrical systems and software
- appreciates working with system integration and making subsystems work reliably together

- enjoys working with varied tasks, in large and small projects
- can see development through from problem identification to release of solution
- collaborates efficiently with others and is happy to mentor and share experience
- has good analytical skills and ability to understand complex systems and requirements, translating these into concrete specifications for design
Responsibilities
The Drone Hardware Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the development of drones (Uncrewed Aircraft - UA) and sensor systems. You will be developing products that need to meet the highest standards for performance and reliability in a demanding application, in addition to fulfilling safety and integrity levels according to international aviation standards and requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- System engineering of computer, communication and sensor systems
- Integration of electrical and electronic components and wiring into mechanical systems
- Specification and/or design of custom PCBAs (power supplies, interface cards, battery management systems, etc)
- Drive-train specification and design, from energy source to propeller
- Testing and verification of system performance and reliability
- Safety and reliability analysis, incl. proof of compliance with standards and regulations
- Develop and maintain documentation and procedures
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in product and processes
Qualifications and preferred experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics, Electrical Systems, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with development of electrical systems
- Specification and design of mechatronic systems
- Specification and design of communication solutions
- Specification and design of computer solutions
- Experience with harsh environments electronics (especially vibration)
- Experience with troubleshooting, product maintenance and support
- Experience with analysis, design and documentation in connection with product certification processes (for e.g. aviation, defence, automotive, medical, etc)
